WordHive — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 September 2026

The short version

WordHive has no accounts and no sign-in. Your progress, coins and settings are saved locally on your device and never leave it. The app shows ads through Google AdMob and offers optional in-app purchases through Apple's and Google's own billing — both are the only things in WordHive that touch a third party.

Information WordHive does not collect

WordHive has no sign-up, no login, and no user accounts. It has no servers of its own and does not transmit your progress, coin balance, or any personal information to Barnseyy. There is no cloud save — progress is lost if you uninstall the app or clear its data.

What's stored, and where

Your level progress, coins, found words, daily objectives, settings and entitlements (such as ad-free) are saved locally on your device using on-device storage. None of it leaves your phone or tablet.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

WordHive shows interstitial and rewarded ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device and advertising identifiers to serve and measure ads, and processes data under its own privacy policy. Two things control what AdMob can do:

  • Age-based personalisation. WordHive defaults to requesting non-personalised ads only. Personalised ads are only requested once you confirm your age in Settings and it's at or above the personalised-ads threshold.
  • App Tracking Transparency (iOS). On iOS, WordHive asks for tracking permission before ads are configured. If you decline, ads still show, but without your device's advertising identifier.
  • Consent (EEA/UK). In regions covered by Google's consent requirements, WordHive shows Google's own consent form before serving ads.

In-app purchases

WordHive offers an optional ad-free purchase and optional coin packs. All purchases are handled entirely by Apple's App Store or Google Play billing. Payment details are processed by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies — WordHive never sees or stores your card details, and only receives confirmation that a purchase was made.

Permissions

WordHive does not request camera, microphone, location, contacts or any similar device permission. It has nothing to ask for beyond what's needed to show ads and process purchases.

Children's privacy

WordHive is rated for all ages. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age — there's simply nothing being collected. Ads default to non-personalised, which is the required setting for anyone under the personalised-ads age threshold.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
